OVERVIEW

MTM's back and this time it's......pretty much the same. It's got some new features though and very nice environment effects-you won't get to see any better ones in a another racing game. The same die hard smash em around racing that made MTM a hit.Great fun to play, especially on multipayer but it does'nt last for long.Explore the tracks , ram the hell out of your opponents and check out the fuzzy wrestler cars for a few weeks. Then it's back to the drawing board. But cool graphics and vast multiplayer options hold it together.....

STORYLINE
What story?Dont look here again.

GAMEPLAY

Played MTM?Then you know what the gameplays like.True 3D tracks that you can explore and a farely interactive scenery that you may destroy to heart's extent.Every now and then you get whalloped and land up somewhere miles away wondering if that vague looking vehicle had a catapult attached to it.That happens in multiplayer. Many of the cars are based on wrestlers like Hollywood Hogan,Bret Hart and Sting. The 3 multiplayer only tracks let you 'wrestle' your buddies and the winner is determined through a point based system. The feature that this game REALLY lacks is split screen racing. But then again you can install it on your friend's hard disk and play a modem to modem. It's got a lot of trucks and tracks but that solid speedy feel that's responsible for the success of many a racing game is still a little low.It may not seem too responsive but that can be changed if you fiddle around the garage or choose a difficulty other than rookie.Cant say much for the sound and commentary but the game is just plain fun.Often you feel like wandering around instead of trying to outrace your opponents and you may just find a few suprises. The goodyear blimp and killable cows to name a few.

Oh look ma,mad cows.

GRAPHICS

MTM2's graphics compared with it's predessor looks pretty much the same without direct3d.But if you have a 3d card , that makes all the difference. The environment is really cool with dozens of weather options-snow,rain,night,fog etc. It's textures are well done and the great looking scenery is somewhat interactive. The tire tracks and exhaust are visible. So are the headlights and shadows. The water effects are a splash.Watch droplets of water erupt as you wade in a shallow pool or drive in the rain. After you get roughed around a bit , part of your vehicle gets crushed but it doesnt happen too often. The max resolution with 3d acceleration is only 640 by 480 but it does the job well. There are more than enough views to contend with - 9 external and 1 internal that do just fine.Graphics are really one of it's plus points but need a 3d card to be appreciated.

PERFORMANCE TIPS

You don't want to see it run on a 133.Too slow to be any fun.166 is absolutely bare minimum. And unless you have a modem for multiplayer , don't buy it.A 3d card is a big plus as well.
